PSG Analog Signal Generator, options: 520 = Frequency range 250kHz-20GHz; 1E1 = Step attenuator; 1EU = High output power; UNT = AM, FM, phase modulation and LF output; UNU = Pulse modulation; UNX = Ultra-Low Phase Noise Performance
The Agilent (now Keysight) E8257D is a fully synthesized signal generator with high output power, low phase noise, and optional ramp sweep capability.
Modulation:
AM, FM, ØM, pulse, and scan
Typical 6 ns rise/fall times and 20 ns pulse width
Dual internal function generators: sine, square, triangular, ramp, and noise
Sweep:
Step, list, and ramp sweep (frequency and power)
Source control using PSA Series Option 215
Agilent 8757D scalar network analyzer code compatible
Automation and communication interface:
10BaseT LAN and GPIB
SCPI and IVI-COM drivers
Backwards compatible with all PSG signal generators
Options:
520 = Frequency range: 250 kHz to 20 GHz
007 = Analog ramp sweep:
Fully synthesized continuous analog frequency and power sweeps
Operates with the 8757D scalar network analyzer for fully automated measurements
Swept 2-tone testing - block diagram
Alternate sweep
1E1 = Step attenuator:
Calibrated output power levels of -135 dBm (up to 40 GHz) and -110 dBm (up to 70 GHz)
Level accuracy: 2 to 67 GHz
UNT = AM, FM, Phase modulation and LF output:
AM Features: Log mode > 40 dB, linear mode > 95 % maximum depth
FM Features: 128 MHz maximum deviation
Simultaneously enable AM, FM, ØM, and pulse modulation
Two internal modulation sources
UNU = Puls modulation:
Variable pulse width (150 ns minimum)
Variable repetition rate (up to 3 MHz)
80 dB on/off ratio
